Homework and Assessment
All children receive home learning to complete weekly. Homework takes the form of reading, number practice, handwriting practice, research (for older children), times tables and spellings. Parents receive full information about homework at the start of the year.
Parents are invited to workshops to support their child’s home learning. In addition we provide access to Mathletics and Spellodrome to assist your pupils in further learning at home.
Three times each year children take summative attainment tests. Tests are in addition to ongoing formative assessment that teachers do via marking of work and observation of learning.
There are three parents’ progress meetings each year in which attainment data is shared with parents, as well as a discussion of general learning attitude and achievement.
At the end of October, February and May we also send home a report that details learning behaviour, attitude and adherence to routines.
