Most of our pupils at Martello can walk to school. It is our aim to nurture the children who attend our school so that they reach their potential and realise the important role they must play as citizens in their community and as citizens of modern Britain.
We play a positive part in the life of the local community by participating in community events, by building a relationship with older residents, and by volunteering. Older children take part in the school volunteering scheme, ‘Martello Junior Citizens’, and give their time and energy for the benefit of the school and community.
All year groups are expected to raise funds for their chosen charity and to undertake meaningful activities linking home and school in order to understand the importance of raising funds for the benefit of others. This year we have raised money for Children in Need, the Rainbow Centre and the Gurkha Memorial Trust.
